BORRELIA GARINII NT 29 GENOTYPE BORRELIA STRAIN USED FOR BORRELIA IDENTIFICATION AND DIAGNOSTIC PRODUCT PREPARATION Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC C12N1/20 A61K39/02 G01N33/531

Abstract RU 2407787 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: recent T6/P51 Borrelia strain belongs to Spirochaetales order Spirochaetaceae family Borrelia genus to sort Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato gene complex Borrelia garinii NT 29 genotype. The strain is deposited under No. D-T6/P51 of April, 2nd, 2008 in the Borrelia museum of the Borreliosis Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation at State Institution 'Gamaleya Research Institution of Epidemiology and Microbiology' of the Russian Academy of Medical Science. An original T6/P51 Borrelia strain of Borrelia garinii NT 29 genotype characterises a Borrelia population circulating in the natural foci of Western Siberia. Methods of research and species data are PCR and sequence analysis. A nucleotide sequence of 5 S-23 S interspace region of ribosomal RNA is deposited in GenBank No. AY 603349. The T6/P51 Borrelia strain can be used as a producer of diagnostic products, and also for optimisation of laboratory diagnostics of tick borrelioses.

EFFECT: use of the strain as an antigen in indirect immunofluorescense reaction allows more complete and reliable laboratory diagnostics of tick borrelioses in the patients in the West Siberian region.
