FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, cardiology. In patients, who undergo operation of carotid endarterectomy, concentration of troponin I in venous blood is determined. Troponin I is determined in dynamics before performing anesthesia, during compression of internal carotiod artery, after the patient recovers from anesthesia. If troponin I concentration in venous blood is higher than 0.5 ng/l, acute coronary syndrome is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method possesses high specificity and sensitivity and makes it possible to detect early peri-operational complications, associated with acute coronary syndrome.
