Claimed method for determining the drapability of materials consists of preparing a sample of a material in the form of a circle, fixing it between two disks of equal diameters: the main disk in the center with a needle, a cargo disk with a hole in the center for the needle fixed by a three-lobe clamp mounted on a bracket, which can move along rigidly fixed to the base of the rod, with the possibility of fixing the position of bracket relative to glass of flatbed scanner with the help of screw, determining the area of the horizontal projection of the sample material after deformation and the lengths of the axial lines using a flatbed scanner connected to a computer, at the same time, the drapeability of the material is estimated by the drapeability ratio, which is defined as the percentage ratio of the difference in the area of the sample of material and its horizontal projection after deformation to the area of the sample of material, at the same time, to imitate wind effects and to bring the test conditions closer to operational ones, a fan mounted on a flatbed scanner is used.
