FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: on distributing sounding signal power among angular directions of the zone or entire space, varying parametres of combinations of signals received from every aforesaid direction is subjected to comparative analysis with due allowance for potential target danger. Besides, in consecutive m-stage (m > 1) surveillance of angular directions of the zone, each angular direction, not comprising detected targets and after its inspection depending upon parametres of received signals for the next stage or scanning period, is assigned a weight factor, while portion of energy left for zone surveillance is distributed among angular directions with due allowance for their weight factors. Note here that weight factor is set depending upon maximum level of signal received in signal preset range interval, or upon degree of danger from suspected target. Note also that weight factor magnitude is set equal to maximum SNR magnitude.
EFFECT: optimum use of sounding signal power and allowance for different degree of danger on suspected targets.
