FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device consists of gear with first rotating element, second rotating element and third rotating element, of internal combustion engine, of first motor-generator, of second motor-generator, of driven element, of first track of power transfer and of second track of power transfer. The internal combustion engine is tied with the first rotating element. The first motor-generator is coupled with the second rotating element. The second motor-generator is coupled with the third rotating element. The first track of power transfer and the second track of power transfer are equipped with a transmission. The method consists in evaluation of specified output of the first power source of the drive, in controlling ratio at speed change of gear depending on result of evaluation and in choice of the method for change of modes.
EFFECT: raised efficiency of power transfer.
