FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology, and can be used for diagnosing palatine tonsils hypertrophy. Ultrasonic examination of palatine tonsils in B-mode, and then in combination with Doppler color mapping. Transverse size of tonsils, degree and type of vascularisation are determined. If there is a transverse size of 16 mm and more and visualizing a total of more than 5 vessels in peritonsillar and intratonsillar regions of each tonsil, their hypertrophy is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables diagnosing tonsil hypertrophy due to ultrasonic criteria.
