FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises hearing slab made from steel containing the following substances in wt %:C: 0.025-0.10%, Si: 2.5-4.5%, Mn: 0.03-0.55% and Al: 0.007-0.040%, to 1100-1450°C and higher. It comprises also rolling the slab for sheet hot rolling, multiple cold rolling of sheet in reversing multi-roll mill with split housing, primary recrystallisation annealing and secondary recrystallisation annealing of cold-rolled sheet. Production of electric grad steel with primary crystallisation structure, wherein crystalline grains oriented along Goss direction and crystalline grains aligned with Goss direction are aligned in rolling direction, is provided by: (a) making cold rolling,or first and second cold rolling, using roll with small-diametre varying from 55 mm to less than 105 mm; (b) second to third and, further, up to second to last, rolling is made using roll of larger diametre varying from 105 mm to less than 150 mm, and (c) final cold rolling is made using roll with diametre exceeding that large-diametre roll.
EFFECT: better magnetic properties of steel at higher squeezing intensity.
