FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ethylene oligomerisation catalyst in form of a mixture of a cocatalyst and a catalyst in molar ratio of 80:1-120:1 in an organic solvent medium. The catalyst used is in form of mononuclear benzothiazole nickel formazans (N1L2) which contain a chloride ion in the ortho- and/or para-position of the phenyl substitute of the formazan ligand (L), of general formula: where R1=C6H4-para-OCH3; C7H15 or C4H9; R2=H or CI; R3=H or Cl. The cocatalyst used is a chlorine-containing organoaluminium compound of general formula AlRnCl3-n, where R=C2H5 or a C4H9 group, and n=1 or 2.
EFFECT: high activity of the catalyst system, which increases output of higher olefins.
