METHOD OF CHOOSING SURGICAL APPROACH IN PATIENTS WITH BILIARY SEPSIS BY THERAPEUTIC AND DIAGNOSTIC INVASIVENESS AND PATIENT'S SEVERITY LEVEL Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2417047 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, more specifically to surgery, and can be used for choosing a surgical approach in patients with biliary sepsis. For this purpose, a patient admitted to hospital is examined for a severity level. By the observed severity levels, all patients with biliary sepsis are subdivided by the possibility of surgical manipulations into 3 groups: the 1st group - the 1st severity level - probable lethal termination by the offered method for prediction varies within 10 to 30 %. Laparotomy and minimally invasive interventions are allowed, including: gall bladder and bile passage laparoscopies, major duodenal papilla endoscopies. The 2nd group - the 2nd severity level - probable lethal termination by the offered method for prediction varies within 31 to 60% with allowing the following minimally invasive interventions: gall bladder and bile passage laparoscopies, major duodenal papilla endoscopies. The 3rd group - the 3rd severity level - probable lethal termination by the offered method for prediction varies within 61 to 90% with allowing the following minimally invasive interventions: laparoscopic cholecystostomy, limited-incision cholecystostomy and major duodenal papilla endoscopies.

EFFECT: method allows reducing lethal termination rate in patients with biliary sepsis.
