FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to inorganic chemistry and can be used to produce synthetic gas. Hydrocarbon material containing methane is passed through a reactor, in whose top part of which there is optionally a catalyst having activity during oxidation of hydrocarbon material, and through a steam reforming catalyst bed. The catalysts are directly in contact on the side of a membrane which is permeable for oxygen. The outlet part of the steam reforming catalyst bed is not in contact with the membrane.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain gas of given composition and lowers working temperature of the process.
