FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to making block foamed glass. An initial mixture is dispersed, a foaming mixture is added and granulated to particle size 1-3 mm. The granulated mixture is then fed into the plasma reactor an electric arc plasmatron. Foaming of the mixture and sputtering conglomerates of foamed glass with a stream of a plasma-supporting gas into a metal mould is carried out at 18 kW operating power of the plasmatron and 1-2 m3/h flow rate of the plasma-supporting gas.
EFFECT: high quality of the end product, low power consumption and shorter foaming time of the mixture.
