FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce highly pure chlorine dioxide. Acid, alkali metal chlorate and reducing agent are fed into a reactor 1. The product stream 2 obtained in reactor 1, which contains chlorine dioxide, water and alkali metal salt, is mixed with a gaseous moving stream 4 in an eduction column 3. The stream of diluted product 5 is split in a gas-liquid separator 6 into a gaseous stream 8, which contains chlorine dioxide and a liquid 9. The gaseous stream 8 reacts with a stream of water 11 in an absorber 10. The aqueous solution 12, which contains chlorine dioxide, is removed from the absorber 10.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain chlorine dioxide, which does not contain excess acid and secondary products.
