FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of chlorine dioxide production, including realisation of reaction between alkali metal chlorate or chloric acid and methane in water reaction medium in reaction reservoir with formation of chlorine dioxide, discharge of gas, containing chlorine dioxide and gaseous byproducts from reaction reservoir, condensation of part of discharged gas with obtaining condensate and removal of said condensate from gas which did not condense without its recirculation into the process of chlorine dioxide production, additionally including supply of said gas which did not condense after condensate removal into absorption column, where it contacts water flow with formation of chlorine dioxide-containing water solution.
EFFECT: application of claimed invention makes it possible to obtain chlorine dioxide possessing high storage stability and low concentration of byproducts.
