FIELD: life saving equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to life saving equipment, namely to units for emergency cable and rope descend, particularly to brake assemblies of these units. The cable and rope brake assembly representing a base metal plate in the form of a flat shovel with a wide and narrow portions parts with four metal pins perpendicular to a plane of the wide portion of the shovel and contacting with a cord or a rope vertically on the shovel and two metal pins, right and left horizontally arranged at the level of an axis passing between the first and second vertical pins. The unit differs by the fact that on the first threaded vertical pin, there is a holed metal mobile cam for attachment on the first vertical pin of the base plate whereto a metal handle inclined 45 degrees to a vertical of the descend unit is attached; and at the bottom of the base plate, there is a fixation assembly representing a threaded metal pin whereto the flat metal cover shaped similarly to the base plate, having respectively seven penetrations for attachment on the pins of the base plate, and a safety plate is movably attached. All pins of the base plate are designed in the form of cylindrical rods.
EFFECT: higher reliability of the descend unit in whole and safety of high-capacity people and object descent, and also reduction of a brake effort.
