FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machining of ferrous metals, particularly, to machining of metal cutting tools made of high-cutting speed steels. To increase the hardness of claimed tool heat-hardened by standard process is subjected to pulsating subsonic airflow that features the frequency 1130-2100 Hz and sound pressure of 120-140 dB at the room temperature for 10-20 minutes.
EFFECT: 2 to 2,5-fold increase in metal hardness.
