FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat treatment of carbon tool steeps. This process comprises quenching of steels from 760-780°C and, then, subjecting them to pulsating subsonic airflow at the room temperature and 1130-2100 Hz and sound pressure of 120-140 dB.
EFFECT: high hardness and low brittleness.
