FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: in disclosed procedure anode dissolution of iron is performed in diaphragm-free electrolyser made out of fluoroplastic. A plate out of transformer steel of 10 cm2 area functions, for example, as anode, while silver plate of 6 cm2 area functions as cathode. Area of anode exceeds area of cathode 1.5-2 times. Solution of sodium hydroxide of 17-20 mole/l concentration saturated at room temperature is used as electrolyte. Direct current is fed to electrodes. System is adjusted to facilitate density of current on anode 0.3 A/cm2. Temperature is maintained within specified ranges (70-85°C) by regulation of flow rate of cold water in a "water jacket" of the electrolyser. Electrolysis is carried out during 5-15 minutes. There are produced solutions of sodium ferrate (VI) of concentration 0.245 g-equiv/l.
EFFECT: increased concentration of compound in solution and reduced consumption of electric power for output of mole of product.
