FIELD: manufacture by means of wire electrode tool of cylindrical involute gear articles with predetermined accuracy degree and with outer toothed rims. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of setting predetermined succession of coordinate movements of path of wire electrode-tool according to control program at operation of linear interpolator during shaping lateral surfaces of teeth; at such process providing constant approximation errors being no more than admissible one in any elemental approximation zone of end involute profile. Pitch between shaping points of end involute profile is variable; it changes according to given law. In order to shape only separate lateral surface, it is necessary to use less number of reference points of path of wire electrode-tool. It allows to reduce capacity of the whole process of electric erosion gear making and path length of electrode-tool. EFFECT: lowered cost price of the whole treatment process. 2 dwg
