FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of 2,4,6-triphenylmagnesacyclononane (I) of formula: .The method involves reaction of styrene with magnesacyclopentane in the presence of a zirconocene dichloride Cp2ZrCl2 catalyst. The reaction is carried out in an atmosphere of dry ethylene fed under excess pressure of 0.04 MPa in molar ratio styrene: magnesacyclopentane: Cp2ZrCl2=(10-20):10:(0.2-0.4), in a tetrahydrofuran solution at 20-22°C for 8-10 hours.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain 2,4,6-triphenylmagnesacyclononane of the formula given above.
