METHOD OF DIAGNOSING DEGREE OF GLIOMA MALIGNANCY Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B8/06

Abstract RU 2423920 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neurosurgery. Intraoperatively contact high-frequency Dopplerography before and after hyperventilation is performed and average linear rate of brain blood flow (LRBav) is measured in tumour arteries, transition zone and surrounding unchanged brain substance. Direction of LRBav response is taken for 1.0 in case if LRBav grows after hyperventilation more than by 5% from initial level, Direction of LRBav response is taken for 0.0 if LRBav changes within 5% in this or that direction, direction of LRBav response is taken for -1.0, if LRBav value after hyperventilation grows by more than 5%. In case if direction of LRBav response in artery of perifocal zone is different from LRBav direction in artery of unchanged brain substance, glioma of 1-3 degree of malignancy is diagnosed, if direction of LRBav response in artery of unchanged brain substance is different from LRBav direction of tumour artery, glioma of 4 degree of malignancy is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method ensures reduction ofduration of mexamination and increased accuracy of glioma malignancy determination, and also makes it possible to differentiate gliomas of 3 and 4 degree of malignancy.
