FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to casting of metal and alloys with their subsequent processing. Proposed method comprises feeding molten metal into crystalliser with direct cooling of ingot at crystalliser outlet that has outer rim and liquid core. Effective amount of cooling liquid is removed from ingot outer surface so that inner heat of molten core heats rim again thus making core and rim temperature approximating to 425°C or higher.
EFFECT: ingots that may be rolled without hot treatment or additional homogenisation.
