FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to casting ingots suitable for hot rolling without preliminary homogenisation. Proposed method comprises pouring fused metal in continuous casting mould, ingot forming and cooling ingot surface by coolant. Coolant is removed from ingot surface to keep the ingot for, at least, 10 minutes at the temperature higher than that of phase changes for ingot homogenisation in casting.
EFFECT: ingot with microstructure without inhomogeneity or microstructure with fissures.
