FIELD: food industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to confectionary industry. The method envisages blending chewing gum composition (including chewing gum base, a sweetener and sugar alcohol) in a mixer, adding a flavouring agent into the composition and further stirring of the mixture. Then the mixture is extruded through an extruder. One supplies a pastelike or granulated composition (with granules diameter 10-18 mesh (about 1-2 mm)) into the extruder through the feeder gate with a screw to ensure placement of the filler into the centre. The composition contains 80-99 wt % of xylite, up to 5 wt % of water, 0-5.0 wt % of a cooling agent, 0-5.0 wt % of menthol and 0-5.0 wt % of a flavouring agent. Then one moulds the chewing gum. The coating composition layer is applied onto moulded chewing gum at a temperature of 18-25°C and humidity 40-50% with subsequent maintenance.
EFFECT: invention allows to produce chewing gum with filler; the chewing gum has intensive freshening action and crispy coating.
