FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: application method of chromium coatings on cylindrical items involves submersion of item into electrolyte containing chromium compound, electrochemical deposition of the coating and mutual rotational movement of item surface and electrolyte; at that, negative side of power source is connected to fixed cylindrical item fully submerged into electrolyte, and positive side of power source is connected to external cylindrical electrode; axial magnetic field is formed by means of constant magnets located around anode, and rotation of electrolyte in magnetic field relative to deposition area is provided under action of Ampere force.
EFFECT: higher quality of coating by using increased densities of current, formation of chromium coatings having increased wear resistance, smaller dimensions and simpler design of galvanic installation.
