FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device has an elongated detector module for a gamma radiator which has a housing with a cover which tightly insulates the said housing, a pair of cylinders inside the housing, each having an elongated scintillation material. Both cylinders with scintillation material on each of their opposite faces have on their axis a photomultiplier and a spring for displacement of the corresponding photomultiplier towards the scintillation material. The cover has a front side which covers at least the scintillation material and is made from material which is essentially transparent for gamma-radiation, which enables interaction of gamma-radiation with scintillation material detected by the photomultiplier in order to generate an electrical signal which is proportional to the value of gamma-radiation.
EFFECT: design of a simple device for detecting gamma radiation, having high energy resolution.
