FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. Aluminium wire is periodically fed into a reactor between electrodes in a medium of superheated saturated steam, or water is fed into the bottom part of the reactor and the aluminium wire reacts with water in the bottom part of the reactor and with saturated steam in the top part. An electrical pulse is periodically transmitted to the electrodes with energy density in the wire equal to 10-20 kJ/g and the aluminium wire is periodically exploded into liquid aluminium nanoparticles which react with saturated steam or water in the bottom part of the reactor and with saturated steam in the top part to form aluminium oxides and hydrogen gas. The aluminium wire is heated to melting point before explosion.
EFFECT: invention is intended to increase efficiency, reduce power consumption and increase purity of hydrogen.
