FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: sandwich chamber for thin-layer chromatography has a chromatographic plate with an adsorption layer and a clamp plate. The device also has a flat-topped catcher and a clamps which clamp the plate. The sandwich chamber has an additional plate and the chromatographic plate is placed between the clamp plate and the additional plate, the dimensions of which are 10-40 mm greater than those of the chromatographic plate on the sides of the catcher. The catcher is mounted on the additional plate such that the distance between the adsorption layer of the chromatographic plate and the adjacent surface of the clamp plate is less than 0.3 mm. The additional plate on the lower side of the chromatographic plate has projections. The clamp plate is made from material which transmits UV radiation.

EFFECT: high separation efficiency and reproducibility of analysis results, and faster separation.
