FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: electronic control module executes program that changes valve phase into mechanically preset phase with maximum delay in controlling fuel feed shutdown, or in running hybrid vehicle in second mode wherein engine is shutdown to allow running drive power generated by second motor generator. Phase defined by cam position pickup is taken to be maximum-delay phase.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
