FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: interrelation is set between temperature TI of power supply line or wire 10, electrical characteristics of power supply line, for example, current I of power flux P, ambient conditions, for example, wind speed W, wind direction, humidity, solar radiation S and ambient air temperature Ta, by means of thermal model of power supply line. Said magnitudes or variable are continuously measured and estimated to adequately correct thermal model parameters in power supply line operation. In compliance with preferable version, mean temperature of the entire power line is determined by two phasor measurement units 11, 11′ (PMU) that allow determining synchronised values of phasor at both ends of supply line. Ohmic resistance of power supply line is calculated proceeding from phasor magnitudes that allow, in their turn, defining mean temperature of power supply line.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of estimation.
