FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: pellet of powder is reduced in furnace with revolving bed. Powder includes general content of iron 40% or more; molar amount of fixed carbon in units of atomic weight is equal to 0.7-1.5-multiple amount of molar amount of oxygen in units of atomic weight fixed in metal oxide and reduced in atmosphere of monoxide of carbon at temperature 1200°C. Also, there is produced reduced metal in atmosphere at maximal temperature from 1200°C to 1420°C with ratio of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide from 0.3 to 1.2 in a zone of reduction. Produced material contains reduced iron wherein content of metal iron is 50 wt % or more and content of carbon is 5 wt % or less. Material containing reduced iron is moulded under pressure at temperature from 500°C to 800°C using a die of a roller type. The invention also refers to production of cast iron in a blast furnace with utilisation of pelleted reduced iron.
EFFECT: production of pellets of reduced iron resistant to repeated oxidation, stored during long time and transported to great distance.
