FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: at the transmitting side an information source generates a primary signal, a sampling device generates a sequence of primary signal samples, a first threshold level generator generates 2n threshold levels which are then transmitted to reference inputs of a first sample value converter, the first sample value converter converts the sequence of primary signal samples into a sequence of transmitted samples, the converted sequence of samples is transmitted over a communication channel to the receiving side where the obtained sequence of samples is received, a second threshold level generator generates reference signals with values of the minimum non-zero threshold level, with an opposite value, with a zero value and with a value equal to half the value of the minimum non-zero threshold level, which are then transmitted to corresponding reference inputs of a second sample value converter; the sequence of the primary signal samples is then reconstructed using the second sample value converter, the reconstructed primary signal is then transmitted to the input of the information recipient via low-pass filters.

EFFECT: reduced error variance of values of samples transmitted over a communication channel at fixed values of the dynamic range of values of the primary signal samples and extreme error.
