FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vacuum coating techniques and can be used to obtain photocatalytically active and sun-screening coatings based on titanium dioxide. The method is realised by forming a coating containing doped ions of at least one of the following elements: Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, Sb, Sn, V, Mn, Cu, W, Zn, Nb, Zn, N, Si, depositing a titanium dioxide based layer, high-temperature processing at 500-700°C and oxidation of multi-layer titanium-containing coatings. During thermal processing, doped ions enter the titanium dioxide layer through diffusion from intermediate layers with thickness of the TiO2 layer equal to 20-100 nm.
EFFECT: method of producing TiO2 based coatings with improved functional and operational characteristics owing to formation of a dense crystalline film of TiO2 containing doped ions.
