FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method of determining corrosive state of the underground part of reinforced concrete poles involves measuring steady-state potential of the reinforced relative the comparison electrode. The method involves connecting a dc voltage source (e.g. an accumulator battery) between the reinforcement of the pole and the current electrode through an electronic switch, measuring current passing through the reinforcement of the pole, and potential of the reinforcement of the pole relative the comparison electrode in transient mode. The obtained data are used to determine resistance of the concrete and resistance and capacitance of the "reinforcement-concrete" boundary surface. The corrosive state of the underground part of the reinforced concrete pole is determined from the obtained values of resistance of the concrete and resistance and resistance and capacitance of the "reinforcement-concrete" boundary surface.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining the corrosive state of the underground part of reinforced concrete poles.
