COMPLETE CORNEAL STROMECTOMY TECHNIQUE Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61F9/07 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and aims at carrying out complete corneal stromectomy. A linear incision 1.8-2.5 mm is pre-formed in deep layers of a paracentral area of the cornea. From its ends, the cornea is splitted in middle layers to form stromal pockets. A canal of the diameter of 1 mm is created on the bottom of the incision to a Descemet's membrane (DM). A polymethylmetacrylate plate overlapping the linear incision is placed in the pockets. A cannula is introduced in a space between the DM and the plate. The DM is stripped with using a stained viscomaterial.

EFFECT: method provides a lower rink of intraoperative Descemet's membrane injures, simplified detachment, and enables delayed through keratoplasty.
