FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention belongs to the technology of annular brush sealing goods manufacturing. Manufacturing method of a brush seal for an annular slit includes the formation of monolithic inserts in the form of bases with a selection of sealing elements arranged on them by means of electrochemical pulse machining. Electrochemical machining is carried out by tool electrode made as a perforated plate. Electrochemical pulse machining of each monolithic insert continuous until the thickness of its base equals to 0.3 ÷ 5 mm depending on the radius of sealing annular slit. After the process of electrochemical machining all sealing elements are being bent. They are bent in a way to ensure that the height lowered from the tip of each sealing element to the ground plane of a monolithic insert makes up 30÷90% from its size to the bend. Bend size of sealing elements depends on the size of spacing between them. After that the bases of monolithic inserts are bent and fixed in the annular body or in annular segments which are made with a possibility of their further connection to each other.
EFFECT: increased density of sealing elements.
