FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention in the field of medicine refers to a method of forecasting increasing of individual risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (copd) associated with coronary heart disease (chd). The essence of the method is in calculation of smoker index and number of pack-years, determine the degree of nicotine-associated risk and, accordingly, the intensity of smoking. Then analysis of polymorphousgene locus GSTM 1 and GSTT 1 is carried out by PCR method. Individuals-carriers of GSTs homozygous deletion with high nicotine-associated risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease associated with coronary heart disease.

EFFECT: using the method allow to predict the increasing of individual risk of COPD associated with coronary artery disease, prior to the development of a pathological process or in the early stages of the disease.
