FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to pulmonology, and is intended to predict the risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) among smokers. The rs2052030 single nucleotide polymorphism of the TRPM8gene is genotyped, age is taken into account, the smoking index is determined, and the F value is calculated by the formula: F = − 6.22738 + 0.3746 x SNP + 0.10491 x WHO + 0.03958 x CI. Calculate the probability (P) of the formation of COPD according to the formula: P = 1/(1 + e–F). At P≥0.65, a high risk of developing COPD is predicted, and at P<0.65, a low risk of developing the disease.
EFFECT: invention provides for the creation of a method suitable for predicting the risk of COPD formation in smokers in European population and taking into account the individual genetic characteristics of the subjects and the history of smoking.
