FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: the invention relates to construction, specifically, to devices for destruction of icicles forming on building roofs. The device for icicle destruction on roof edges contains a mechanism for applying force impact to icicles, made in the form of strip attached to the roof edge. The edge of the strip has a system of numerous loosely hanging cords, passed through holes in the edge of the strip. The mechanism is fitted with a set of rigid elements which can change their form steadily or abruptly when the ambient temperature changes.
EFFECT: automatization of icicle destruction process.
