FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to the field of construction, specifically to a device for removal of icicles from a building roof. The device for removal of icicles comprises a heating element attached along the roof edge, for instance, to an inclined canopy, and such element is connected with terminals for connection of a source of an electric signal. The heating element is arranged in the form of an elastic insulated steel wire bent at a certain pitch distance with formation of narrow loops hanging down in parallel to the building wall, at the same time the section of the wire arranged on horizontal parts is removed and replaced with a welded plate from an alloy with an effect of thermomechanical shape memory, having several temperature thresholds of actuation in the range of temperatures of most active icicle formation and exceeding the upper border of this range four-five times.
EFFECT: increased operational reliability of a roof.
