FIELD: fire-prevention facilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of fire-fighting and may find application in extinguishing of local foci of peat depth burning. The method to extinguish local foci of peat depth burning includes supply of water saturated with carbon dioxide into depth of a burning layer of peat. For this purpose a vertical well is drilled in the peat layer for its entire depth, and along this axis several rows of radial horizontal wells are arranged in the depth of the peatbog by means of a hydraulic shock. At the same time the vertical well head is closed, its bottom is isolated from the underlying formation, and this system of wells is filled with water saturated with carbon dioxide.

EFFECT: method to extinguish local foci of peat depth burning makes it possible to supply water saturated with carbon dioxide without losses directly into the depth of the burning peat, and due to combination of cooling of the burning peat depth with water and filling of its pore space with carbon dioxide, increases efficiency of depth fire extinguishing in local foci.
