FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of articles from foamed aluminium-based laminar composite material. Powder mix produced by mixing aluminium allow powder with porophore is used to make solid billet. The latter is placed in dielectric material foaming mould retaining geometry and sizes in thermal treatment. Said mould is heated, billet is foamed in air to produce target article, and mould with foamed article is cooled down. Billet is heated in foaming by induction at useful specific heating power of 20-40 kW per 1 kg of billet weight. Cooling of foamed article to solidus temperature is carried out at the rate of 100-250°C/min.
EFFECT: higher mechanical properties, reduced electric power consumption.
