SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology and can be used for diagnostics of monocular optic neuritis as debut of demyelinating disease of central nervous system disseminated sclerosis. Optic coherent tomography (OCT), neurologic examination for detection of microsymptoms and electrophysiologic examination (EPE) are carried out. If in patient with first manifested monocular optic neuritis detected are: sharp monocular reduction of vision, central scotoma in vision field, restriction of vision field on red and green colours, nystagmus, on OCT light prominence of vision nerve disc, on EPE reduction of electric lability of vision nerve, in neurologic examination microsymptoms in form of dissociation of symptoms, namely - reduction or absence of abdominal and increase of tendinous and periostal reflexes, intention tremor during purposeful movements during finger-nose test and heel-knee test, monocular optic neuritis as debut of demyelinating disease of central nervous system - disseminated sclerosis, is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to detect debut of demyelinating disease at early terms.
