FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: waste water is treated in aerotanks in the presence of oxygen using active sludge which is immobilised on a floating polymer charge. The surface layer of the floating polymer charge is modified with a polyfunctional catalyst with weight ratio of the mineral catalyst to the polymer equal to 60:40, respectively. The modified layer of granules has depth of 2-2.5 mm. The polyfunctional catalyst used is a mixture of oxides and spinels of polyvalent metals, with the following ratio of components, wt %: manganese oxide 67-75; molybdenum oxide 9-12; chromium oxide 5-8; spinels of polyvalent metals 11-13. The granules of the charge have a spherical shape with diameter 18-22 mm with 3-4.5 mm spike-shaped projections on the entire surface of the sphere, which lie in rows and spaced apart by 5.0 mm. The amount of granules of the charge satisfies the condition for formation of fluidised bed during bubbling due to aeration of not less than 70-75% of the total reaction volume of the aerotank.
EFFECT: method enables intensification of the biochemical process of treating waste water and increases efficiency of the process.
