FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device is designed for application of metal coatings and can be used in machine-building, instrument making and radio electronic industries. Explosible foil (1) is made in the form of shaped washer with through hole in the centre, which has stepped profile in radial section. Steps are located symmetrically relative to diameter, and their height is reduced from centre to periphery. In the area of formation of steps of explosible foil (1) there are concentrically located intermediate annular electrodes (2) made as integral parts and from the same metal, either with circular or rectangular cross section with two-sided chamfers. Height of electrodes (2) is larger than that of each of the steps. Explosible foil (1) is located on the edge of mechanically strong dielectric cylinder (3) the surface of which repeats the mating surface of explosible foil (1).
EFFECT: homogeneity and quality of the applied coating is improved due to creation of quasihomogeneous foil explosion.
