FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device is designed for application of metal coatings with electric foil explosion and can be used in machine-building, instrument making and radio electronic industries. Explosible foil (1) is made in the form of shaped washer with through hole in the centre, which has stepped profile in radial section on one of the sides. Height of steps is reduced from centre to periphery. In the area of formation of steps there are concentrically located intermediate annular electrodes (2). The latter (2) are made as integral parts of foil from the same metal and have hold-down elements in the form of spikes (3), which are symmetrically located perpendicular to foil section plane. Explosible foil (1) is located on the edge of mechanically strong dielectric cylinder (4). Mating surfaces of explosible foil (1) and cylinder (4) represent planes.
EFFECT: quality of the applied coating is improved due to formation of quasihomogeneous electric explosion.
