FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method for electrically checking military gamma radiation dose metres, in which the detector used is a Geiger-Muller counter, involving gamma field simulation, determination of errors at control points, adjusting sensitivity at those points in the measurement range where the error exceeds allowable limits. Sensitivity spread of a functioning gas-discharge counter is considered much lower than the allowable basic error of the device and gamma field simulation is carried out not using ionising radiation sources but by transmitting electric signals at a defined frequency to the measurement channel of the circuit of the device being checked.

EFFECT: avoiding exposure of service personnel and high work output.
