FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. In versions of the invention, a plastic optical fibre is attached to a heat resistant distal portion to form a thermally stable lighting probe. A distal portion is short-length, made of a heat resistant material, has an appropriate shape to guide light for the preset application and can be coated with a reflecting coating to ensure the fact that light rays kept inside the portion, do not disappear when a side of the portion is in contact with the high-refraction materials or with the absorbent materials. The distal portions can be made of the heat resistant materials such as heat resistant plastic bars, glass optical fibres or similar. The distal end can be tapered or can be truncated. The plastic optical fibre and the heat resistant distal portion can be connected with using an optical adhesive inside a steel catheter, a plastic bushing, an optical connector.
EFFECT: invention allows eliminating deformation of the distal portion of the tip.
