IMPROVED CATHETER WITH OMNIDIRECTIONAL OPTIC TIP WITH ISOLATED OPTIC WAYS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B18/14 A61B1/07 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2454965 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and medical equipment, namely to catheters for tissue ablation with omnidirectional optic tip and method of manufacturing such tips. Catheter contains case and end electrode, distal with respect to catheter case, with envelope wall and cavity. Envelope wall contains, at least, illumination hole and assemble hole. First fibre-optic cable is connected to illumination hole. Second fibre-optic cable is connected to cavity. Light, emitted from first fibre-optoc cable passes out from end electrode to travel to tissue thigh illumination hole, which determines first way, and returns to end electrode from tissue into cavity through assemble hole, which determines second way. First and second ways are optically isolated one from the other in end electrode. Second version of catheter implementation includes presence on end electrode with envelope wall of several illumination and assemble holes, and corresponding quantity of fibre-optic cables. In order to manufacture omnidirectional end electrode with isolated optic ways envelope wall with cavity is provided. After that, at least, one assemble hole is formed into envelope wall, at least, one illumination hole is formed in envelope wall. Between light-emitting fibre-optic cable and cavity optic barrier is provided.

EFFECT: invention provides light-emitting fibre-optic cable, made with possibility of light emission into illumination hole; and provides receiving fibre-optic cable, made with possibility of receiving light accumulated in cavity.
