FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of extracting molybdenum from aqueous acid solutions. The method includes extracting molybdenum with molybdenum solvents from an aqueous acid solution by bringing said solution into contact with an organic phase solution containing phosphinic acid. Molybdenum is extracted from the organic phase solution by bringing the solution into contact with an extracting aqueous phase solution containing an inorganic compound and having free ammonia concentration ≤1.0 M, followed by extraction of molybdenum from the extracting aqueous phase. The method may include a step of recycling the organic phase and/or a step of recycling the extracting aqueous phase for metal concentration before extraction.
EFFECT: extracting molybdenum from aqueous solutions with a wide concentration range.
