SUBSTANCE: unit for obtaining maximum brightness in the region divides an input image into a plurality of regions and obtains a maximum brightness value in each region for each of the RGB colours. A unit for calculating weight coefficients obtains maximum brightness values for the corresponding RGB colours for all regions, and determines weight coefficients required in the process of adjusting brightness of light-emitting diodes (LED) based on the average value of the maximum brightness values for each colour. A unit for adjusting LED brightness adjusts brightness of corresponding RGB colour LEDs in each region in order to suppress colour shift based on the maximum brightness values obtained by the unit for obtaining maximum brightness in the region, and weight coefficients determined by the unit for calculating weight coefficients.

EFFECT: possibility of suppressing colour shift and providing a sufficient colour reproduction range.
